ECRDI staff have a long history of research in the area of transition.
Current efforts extend the work of the National Early Childhood Transition Center (NECTC) and Project STEPS.
This includes examining factors that promote successful transitions between infant/toddler programs, preschool programs, and public school programs for young children with disabilities and their families.
National Transition Practices Survey
Using a repeated cross-sectional survey design, this study is designed to empirically evaluate longitudinal changes in early childhood professionals' perceptions of the importance of a set of 21 global transition practices.
STEPS (Sequenced Transition to Education in the Public Schools)
Products developed through the STEPS demonstration and outreach grants funded through the U.S. Department of Education from 1987 through 2000.
